My first recollection of being fascinated with makeup was during my early childhood. For years I would run into my mom’s bedroom to watch her make herself up. I remember the smell of her makeup and how I eagerly anticipated the cloud of powder that surrounded her as she set her foundation. I would watch carefully as she added color to her eyes, cheeks and lips and waited for her to ask, “How did I do?”. Of course my answer was always, “You’re beautiful” and I sealed it with a kiss.

When I was about 9 years old mom asked me for the first time to help her with her eye liner. It was the first application I ever did. Eventually it went from doing her eyeliner to a full face of makeup.

 There were other similar memories I had of moments when me and my mom had our own special time together that was centered around makeup. I remember sitting at the dining room table, with the late-afternoon California Sun streaming in - the high altar of beauty. And here we worked together, the original EF team, filling Avon orders - delicate white bags filled with a dozen different treasures, waiting to be discovered by its very lucky recipients. And as for my role, to carefully place into each and every bag, the most petite and elegant hourglass-shaped lipstick sample - in shades today we may be inspired, perplexed or possibly even shocked by.

And for these many sacred moments with mom, filling those Avon bags, on the high altar of beauty, became imprinted forever in my DNA, the undeniable notion that beauty and love are one in the same.

 For nearly two decades I’ve worked as a sought-after beauty brand creator, an exacting and innovative product developer, beauty spokesperson and consultant. I have packaged all of the experience, wisdom, creativity and love into my eponymous line, EDDIE FUNKHOUSER®. I developed with women like my Mom in mind.

My goal every day, to offer you one-of-a-kind prestige formulas, exciting new products to discover, all at an accessible price for everyone to experience.
